I was two years old, sitting in a JoAnn Fabrics shopping cart, choosing fabrics for a quilt my mom was to make for me.
By AGE six, she had me sewing and embroidering alongside her.
I was fascinated by how different combinations of color and texture could elicit such a strong emotional response.
As I grew up, I became increasingly drawn to textiles as a form of communication that has spanned millennia. Historically, they have carried stories, recorded events, preserved traditions, and have also been used to instill domestic patriotism in generations of young women. Their tactile qualities and the symbolism embedded within their iconography continue to shape my practice across every medium.
